Language Dorms
4th Street Apartments South
Language Tutors needed for all languages for the 2005-2006 school year, please see the job description.
The French, German, Japanese, and Spanish Language Houses, sponsored by the School of Modern Languages, offer a wonderful opportunity for students who would like to be immersed in a foreign language. Students have a chance to interact and converse with native speakers and each other, and to eat or socialize with other residents.
Live the language! Each Language House takes up a half of the floor in Fourth Street Apartments which are located on East Campus. Each resident has his or her own room but shares a bathroom with another resident. There is a nice common kitchen and living room/dining room on the ground floor where some of the activities take place.
There are a few cultural activities organized by the Community Advisors, generally native speakers, with the input of the residents and sometimes some of the Modern Language Faculty members, such as movie watching, cooking and eating together, museum exhibits, etc.
The House offers a nice, relaxed and fun learning/living environment consisting of a small group of twelve residents who quickly get to know one another. Living in a Language House is also great preparation for many of Georgia Tech's foreign exchange programs as well as the Modern Language School Intensive Summer Programs (LBAT: Language for Business and Technology).
If you'd like to improve your language and cross-cultural communication skills and get involved, please contact us for more information .
